Hi Friends and Family,
As you can see from this time of this post, I am UP at 2:40am...whoohoo! I went to bed last night at 6:30pm after an exhausting day!
Nick woke me up at 3:50am saying, "We have to go to the ER!" He was COVERED in hives... face, neck, arms, back, and knees. His lips looked like Angelina Jolie... and his eyes looked like a bad botox experience... poor guy! His throat started feeling "funny." For me, a nurse and ACLS/CPR instructor, I think AIRWAY!! We went straight to the ER!
We were so incredibly lucky, and got right into the ER at BTMC. There was NO one in the waiting room, which is almost unheard of this season. Thank you, God! I also saw my good friend, Jenna (who works in the ER), which was so refreshing and calming.
At the hospital, Nick received a shot of steroids. It was either the steroids themselves, the size of the needle, being ill, or a combo of all of those, but my poor hubby got so SICK. So they started him on IV fluids and medications for nausea.
The only thing we can think that caused this must be something we ate. Nothing else has changed, we are pretty boring and stick with the same detergents and washes. We tried a new pizza place... so maybe a spice, the sauce, or something. WHO KNOWS!?!
A huge thank you to my parents for coming to take care of Elayna, and then Nick at the hospital (while I went on to teach at 8am class). WE CAN NEVER THANK YOU ENOUGH!!
When I came home from work, Nick was still a green tinge... kind of like Shrek. He still felt sick and fell asleep around 4:30pm and has been sound asleep since. I pray he wakes up refreshed and feeling better.
Thank you, everyone, for keeping Nick in your thoughts and prayers, it means a lot!
Love ya,
Noelle
