Little man eats every 1-3 hours. He also nurses for 30 min to an hour. Homeboy can eat! The doctor did warn me that he would be eating a lot due to his size. He wasn't joking!
This makes for some sleepless nights, but once Jack starts feeding, he is calm and I usually fall back asleep to wake up to a little boy with a milky mustache! :-)
It is really important to me to breastfeed. With H1N1, the flu, etc. etc. I wanted to protect our son. Also it is important for me to "do it right" this time. I was unprepared with Elayna, naïve, and basically pretty unsuccessful at the whole process. This time I read about breastfeesding, talked to breastfeeding moms, and took a class. I learned a lot! For example, with Elayna I pumped right away to relieve the pressure when my milk came in. This made my body think my baby was eating all of that, and then filled me back up! Painful!! This time I let Jack do all the work and regulate my "supply and demand." So far, so good! Not so much pressure, and Jack is getting what he needs.
Hopefully I can keep it up! Wish us luck!
